Change of Major: Meteorology and Climate Science
The Meteorology Change of Major application process is for current students declared a major in the Meteorology Department AND for students declared a major outside the Meteorology Department interested in pursuing a change of major to any major within the Meteorology Department.

- BS Meteorology
- BS Meteorology, Climate Science
Notice to Students:
Change of Major requirements are subject to change without notice between academic years.
It your responsibility, as the student, to stay engaged with change of major materials and resources every semester.
Students must complete the change of major application process to be considered for any change of major to or within the College of Science.
College of Science students must complete the “Intent to Change Majors Google Form” to express their interest in pursuing a change of major every semester until they have successfully been accepted to the new major. Email [email protected], to request access to this form.
Students on Progress Notice are subject to disqualification in the major. See the College of Science Academic Notice policy for more information.
Change of Major Advising:
Contact the Undergraduate Advisor, Dr. Tan, to learn about how to apply to a major in Meteorology and Climate Science and request change of major advising.
Apply to Meteorology and Climate Science:
To apply to a major within the Meteorology and Climate Science Department, evaluate your eligibility based on current admission criteria. Applications will be available November 2024 through the College of Science website. Fall 2024 deadline for Spring 2025 admission consideration is December 1, 2024.
The Spring 2024 "Request for a Change of Major Application" is closed for Fall 2024 admittance consideration. If you have questions about your change of major application, email the College of Science Academic Programs support unit at [email protected].
Submitting a Change of Major Application does not automatically result in admittance to the major.
