Transitioning out of Engineering

Completing these actions allows ESSC to remove your Major Advising Hold for the term.

  1. See an advisor or attend a workshop in the major for which you want to apply. Here is a list of the success centers for the other colleges at SJSU.
  2. All of the centers use Spartan Connect, which tracks all student appointments and registration for workshops. We use the advisor's summaries as proof of advising so we can remove your major advising hold. The proof of advising should include:
      • The courses you need to take next semester to become eligible to apply to change your major
      • The Fall or Spring term in which you will apply to change your major

Email [email protected] with your student ID number to let us know you received change of major advising, so we can verify your appointment and remove your hold.

NOTE: You will need to repeat this process every semester until you have been admitted to the new major. At that point, you will no longer receive the major advising hold from the College of Engineering.
