- Transfer Credit
-
Before applying for candidacy, students can petition for transfer credit via the Course Transfer Validation Form.
To transfer a course, the following conditions must be satisfied:
- If courses are taken at another university, they must not have been counted for degree credit.
- If graduate-level courses are taken during the senior year as an SJSU undergraduate (final two undergraduate semesters), the courses should not contribute to the bachelor's degree.
- A course can be eligible for transfer only if it is equivalent to an existing graduate course in the department.
- Undergraduate courses do not qualify for transfer.
A maximum of 9 units may be transferred in from another university. Courses taken at SJSU via Open University (while not a matriculated SJSU student) count towards those 9 units. For more information, go to the MSME Catalog.
