Subject Matter Competence (SMC)
Individuals applying to the Multiple Subject, Single Subject, or Education Specialist (MMD & MSD) Credential Programs must satisfy subject matter competency which may be demonstrated through a Subject Matter Competency (SMC) evaluation. Additional details are available on the CTC website.
Verification of successful completion of a Child and Adolescent Development bachelors degree makes you eligible to receive a SMC evaluation.
To be considered for evaluation, you must meet the following:
- Graduated from San Jose State University
- Graduated with a degree in Child and Adolescent Development
- Completed all your required coursework (Graduated)
- Completed each course for CSET waiver with a C or higher
