Last-Minute Writing Help
SJSU students can get quick, online help of up to 20 minutes on a first-come, first-served basis from a trained writing tutor.
You can log in to your SJSU Zoom account and click on the link to join. No reservation or registration is required.
Monday to Thursday, from 12 PM to 2 PM.

Our tutors support all types of writing, including research papers, literature reviews, essays, etc. We also help with the different stages of writing, such as drafting and revising, and we are here to answer your grammar, content, organization, and formatting questions.
Open Lab Sample Questions
"Is my thesis statement okay?" (If it's already drafted.)
"I'm not sure how to cite this source in MLA/APA format."
"I need some help with my introduction; I'm not really sure it flows well."

Fall 2024 Finals Week Extended Open Lab

If you need last-minute writing support from trained tutors, the SJSU Writing Center is providing extended Open Labs on the weekend before finals week. Students can join on a first-come, first-served basis and will meet with a tutor for up to 20 minutes of quick help on any type of writing. We anticipate high demand for the extended Open Labs. Please register beforehand–you can register for both days if necessary.
