At San José State University April is Asian Pacific Heritage Month just as it is for many higher education institutions on the semester system who opt to move it from the month of May so that a full month can be recognized while classes are in session. In recognition of this APHM, our monthly installment of “Good Trouble” video interviews of local leaders who are effective advocates, mentors, and allies, we invited three Asia Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) campus leaders who are staff and faculty on our campus. Please watch our current April episode where I interview these three remarkable individuals, Dr. Joanne Rondilla, assistant professor in Sociology and Interdisciplinary Social Sciences (SISS) and Asian American Studies, Bonnie Sugiyama, Director of the PRIDE Center and Gender Equity Center; and Jenny Nguyen, Educational Programmer, Gender Equity Center.
